Supplemental Privacy Notice: Jonas Club Premium App (Geofencing & Data Collection)
Cavalry Veterans of Syracuse, Inc. (“Cavalry Club”)
This section supplements the Cavalry Club Privacy Policy and applies specifically to members’ use of the Jonas Club Premium mobile application (“App”). It explains how location-based services, including geofencing, and other app-related data are collected and used.

1. Geofencing and Location-Based Features
The App may utilize geofencing technology to enhance member services and overall experience. Geofencing uses a device’s location services (such as GPS) to establish virtual boundaries around defined areas, such as the clubhouse or event locations.
When enabled, geofencing allows the App to recognize when a member enters or leaves designated areas and to respond with relevant features or notifications. These may include event-related alerts, check-in functionality, or location-based offerings.

2. Use of Location Information
If a member permits location access, the App may use location data to:
  • Deliver notifications or trigger features when entering or exiting designated areas
  • Provide content and services tailored to a member’s proximity to Club facilities or events
  • Support features such as arrival recognition, event updates, or service enhancements
  • Analyze aggregated, non-identifiable location trends to improve operations and member experience
  • Enable background location functionality for real-time updates and service optimization

3. Member Control and Choices
Members retain full control over location services:
  • Opt-In: Location services and geofencing are only active if enabled through the member’s device settings
  • Opt-Out: Members may disable location access at any time, which will prevent geofencing features from functioning
Disabling location services will not affect general App usage but may limit certain location-dependent features.

4. Location Data Collected
When geofencing is enabled, the App may collect:
  • Precise Location Data: GPS-based coordinates when a member is within or near a designated area
  • Entry/Exit Activity: Records of when a member enters or leaves a geofenced area
  • Frequency Data: General patterns regarding how often such interactions occur

5. Sharing of Location Data
Location data collected through geofencing is used primarily to support App functionality and member services. The Club does not sell location data. Limited sharing may occur only when necessary to:
  • Support services provided through trusted third-party partners (e.g., technical or navigation-related services)
  • Meet legal, regulatory, or safety obligations
  • Improve operational efficiency through anonymized, aggregated reporting (such as general activity or congestion levels)

6. Disabling Geofencing
Members may disable geofencing at any time by turning off location services in their device settings. Once disabled, features dependent on location—such as proximity notifications or automated check-ins—will no longer be available.

7. Protection of Location Data
The Club employs reasonable administrative, technical, and security measures to protect location data, including encryption where appropriate. Location information is retained only as long as necessary to support App functionality and is securely deleted when no longer required.

App Data Collection and Usage
8. Types of Data Collected
When using the App, the following categories of data may be collected:
a. Personal Information
Information provided directly by members, such as name, email address, phone number, and membership-related details.
b. Usage Data
Information about how members interact with the App, including features accessed, time spent, and navigation patterns.
c. Device Information
Technical details about the device used to access the App, which may include:
  • Device model
  • Operating system and version
  • Unique device identifiers
d. Location Data
If enabled, location information as described in the Geofencing section above.

9. How Information Is Used
Collected data is used to:
  • Provide, operate, and improve App functionality and Club services
  • Personalize the member experience
  • Communicate updates, notifications, and support messages
  • Maintain system security and detect or prevent fraud
  • Fulfill legal and regulatory requirements

10. App Permissions and Sensor Access
Depending on enabled features, the App may request access to certain device functions, including:
  • Camera: For photos or related features
  • Microphone: For audio or voice-enabled functionality
Such access is controlled by the member through device permission settings.

11. Third-Party Integrations
If a member logs in or interacts with third-party platforms (such as club management, tee-time, or event systems), the App may receive limited profile or account information as permitted by those services. This data is used solely to facilitate integration and improve functionality.

12. Data Security
The Cavalry Club takes reasonable precautions to protect all data collected through the App. While industry-standard safeguards are in place, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Members use the App with the understanding of these inherent risks.
